McLaren MP4/8 1:20 Tamiya (& completed MP4/4)
hi guys, this is Jeff from Australia (not FredK - somehow I got logged in as FredK).
I've been having a long break from F1 modelling, here is a McLaren MP4/8 which I started working on nearly 10 years ago but lost motivation after not being happy with the monocoque. After stumbling on this great site I got interested again and I'm finally getting around to re-doing the monocoque. Also included are some pics of my MP4/4 built nearly 12 years ago - the decals have yellowed a bit among other things.
Once again, great site and great info here from very good people.
Jeff

Jeff, what exactly is the issue with MP4/8's monocoque ?
I'm in long lasting build of it too. You got me curious if
I missed something bad on the kit.

hi Lezdep, I just wasn't happy with my paintjob on the monocoque and am now stripping it.
PS I downloaded your FW16 file and Andy's pics, great stuff

Excellent work!
You don't happen to live in Qld do you? I'd love to see these in person?
Thanks
Rob

Great work... just a question: when you make us see your pics, I can see that your models are “completely” made by “not fixed” parts, also the rear wings and sometime the cockpit. I just make the cowl removable. How can you do that? Which part are “not fixable”? For example, I’m going to do a P34 (Monaco 1977 version) and I’d like to know what can I do?
Thanks for all!
