Are they going to build their own engine ? Do they really have Mario Illien in a back room reworking Renault engines to produce 40bhp more.
Then rename the engine Infiniti (a Renault company)

Re: Red Bull engine for 2016
oh to have a window to the future. I think that Red Bull will whine and honda will sell them engines. ron will not be happy but bernie does have the document. which red bull will complain about and not be competive. red bull leaving f1 is fine with me. you win four championships and complain about some one else winning two in a row. life is rough and then you die.
unless something changes, f1 will race to the future and be forgotten.
just my thoughts. no flame please.

No reason the flame indeed, Don. What you picture seems a feasible future.
Obviously there'll always be something called F1, but what they might lose (in terms of interest and fan base) at the road is the question.
All championships pass thru this kind of phases....

Motorsport magazine says that the 2016 engine will be a Renault but that Mario Illien will be modifying it to Red Bull's specs. Story here.

Illien has denied this story - he is not working for RedBull in 2016.
He was suprised about this story - he was asked about this by Michael Schmidt from Auto Motor und Sport.

A denial in F1 usually means its true. I remember Lauda calling everyone liars and worse for saying that Schumacher was going to retire again...and then he did a week later.
