Team orders in Italy?(Spoiler alert)

Post by PeteJ »

Ok, I'll be the idiot that brings the subject up. No proof, no hints, no nothing, just wondering, was the finish for todays race a result of some backroom orders at Mercedes? Mercedes said that Niko had some unspecified punishment and that raises an eyebrow or two. He seemed awful contrite before and after the race. Not very typical. We will never know, but you have to wonder.

Really? Eddie Jordan asked the same thing of Totto Wolf and got a very withering put down in reply. Does anyone really think that this is a realistic situation? I actually watched the race, only my second this year, and I was impressed by the racing. Yes DRS got people into a position to pass but it was still finished of on the brakes. Lewis on Massa was perfect. Very clean and precise. Daniel Ricciardo was very, very impressive as well, forceful, decisive and fair.

Mark Hughes explains the differences between Lewis' and Nico's setups and how Nico's was inferior and he ended up missing the chicane again:

I really enjoyed the race, except for Alonzo going out. The first failure since 2010.

Michael, I love the blackboard photo.

The ferrari cars were nowhere near the speed of the merc engines. Hoping that ferrari is allowed to make some big changes to the engine before 2015!

Being Ferrari I could very easily see that being allowed. If it were Renault then no chance.

When the chicane cutting happened I immediately thought that was convenient. Heck I didn't even notice it at first and looked up and Hamilton was in the lead. Idk if I would believe it was a Mercedes thing but I do somewhat think it may have been a Rosberg thing. I think he's much more fragile than Hamilton and the booing may have really gotten to him. Maybe subconciously he gave one back knowing he has quite the comfortable lead in points.
I don't see how it was scripted though as Hamilton was on pole and should have been ahead anyway. If it was anything I believe it was all Rosberg.
