this may be a silly question, becuase I know nothing about CAD and such....but can something like this be printed?
are the parts all drawn seperately and virtually assembled?

It certainly could be printed, yes. There are several thousand components in the model, but they could be printed out individually if desired. Unlike CAD however, they are not individual components as such (ie having their own part files), instead they all exist as objects within a single scene file (since this is a 3D animation package).
