Postal services here released 5 stamps featuring Belgian Le Mans winners & their cars. Nice!
Belgian drivers sure have good taste re car design. Or maybe, all LM cars are beautifull?
Also, see the livery of P956: would that have been approved, or even noticed?

OOPS! Maybe the Postal Service will fix this, and yours will become a valuable collector's item.

Nice. And honestly, it took me way toooo long to spot the issue with the 956. For those that struggle: Wheels.
Any chance to get them outside of Belgium?

I thought it was the forbidden tobacco advertising. That's what caught my eye immediately. Am I wrong about this?

Ehhh, i'm not into 956 enough to fault the wheel setup, so your remark might be correct. But more obviously: tabacco advertising is not allowed, at least i thought so...sky1911 wrote:Nice. And honestly, it took me way toooo long to spot the issue with the 956. For those that struggle: Wheels.

Also remarkable: the mazda 787B has Betrand Gachot listed as driver, but Wiki says he's actually French and only drove with belgian license for a time. So not sure that car should have made it to the stamp serie.
These series are available from belgian post, but they will only send inside belgium.
I have an extra set which i could forward to Germany. Price of stamp sheet is Euro 8.85, forwarding is Euro 6. So if you want, let me know and i'll send you a set. Or any other member on the board.
Mind you: stamps have only real value in Belgium, outside of it they're just collectables.

Not sure (i'm no lawyer), but it might be that printing tabacco sponsor on 956 car is allowed.bestbalsakits wrote:... tabacco advertising is not allowed, at least i thought so...
There is this rule in Belgian law that says: voor "incidentele reclame in het kader van de aankondiging aan het publiek van evenementen in het buitenland" or in Eng: printing is allowed for non intentional use to promote events abroad. Le Mans = event, and abroad (France vs Belgium)
So, maybe kit companies can use this rule to print tobacco decals as long as they refer to specific race in name of kit. That'll be the day
