Very interesting to read your experience Christian, thought opposite, the thin bodywork should be easier to attach to each other, but obviously it does not work.
Cutting the parts is not simple, when using the parting lines of the car it can bring you in trouble with the fitting also, not an easy task to do it!
Hope you find a solution, and i agree, some thing can only be learned the hard way, even the way you create the print direction of the part has to be thought of, warping brought me also in trouble on some parts, even they have been more solid, only caused by the direction of the part.
Take a stand!

Thinner parts should be better. That's my thought.
But the parts have to be cured first. After the curing they become stiff enough but could bent out of shape. Best solution on the 917 was to attach body front and chassis front and cure them together. That does not work with my partition. The 917 got a simple body work.

My plans are now to complete restart the design. Will try to make 1,8mm wall thickness.
Cut the body maybe just after the front wheelhouse and at the back at the rear wheelhouse. Have to look what can I put into my printer including the support lift and some mm spare height. Think I can print a maximum of 185mm in the height.

All the work of the last weeks are nearly for nothing. On the other side I learned a lot and every project is getting better and better.

Time to show some progress here.

The body was printed with a wall thickness of 1,8mm and I changed the cuts. Maybe will still change the cut of the back of the car.

The chassis is much better now, but still need some changes.
But it's getting to the end now.
Next print should be the final one.

Regards Christian

Christian have you ever tested to shorten the times? I have a bottom exposure at 30sec. and the layer at 2.7sec.
I also see a few supports that you could possibly leave out, so the rework would be less and the quality of the print would be even better. :D

Definitely a great project! 8)

Hi Thomas, I think there is no need to shorten the times.
With these settings all the prints works fine.
And it doesn't matter if a print took 12,5 h instead of 13h. Most of them run overnight.
The supports on the 2 pics are random. Most of them are the finest that Chitubox can do. That means I can remove them by hand before curing and there is no need to sand it afterwards.
When the print is done and cured its ready for a slight sanding and for primer.
No massive works to do.
Remove some of them can cause issues with the stability of the parts. My thing is that I will use more than I would need instead half of the prints are getting failed.

Some more progress.
The parts are glued together now. Fits well, but still some tiny changes to do.

Today was exhaust Friday.

Looks good so far. But I had to sand some areas on the exhaust and on the chassis.
So again I have to change the chassis file.
Still a try and error thing even when you look at the cad file you can't find any problem.

Seat and dash are also in the making and need a re-work.
