Once I have a F310B in my stash, If you have an extra Tamiya - Ferrari F310B with no decals, what would be the conversion you would try to turn into a different car? (No Ferrari)
Is it the Arrows A19 the closest shape? Bennetton 197? Minardi M197?
I cant think about any possibility....all seems too far away...
any idea?
Easy question, difficult Answer...
Re: Easy question, difficult Answer...
Arrows A19, for sure!! If John Barnard had stayed at Ferrari for 1998 the A19's shape would be the design of the red car for that season. I had a spare F310B waiting for this conversion a long time ago...
Re: Easy question, difficult Answer...
I disagree... the Arrows is quite roundish over the same shape. If it were a resin solid car, then OK. You would be able to carve and sand to the good shape. On a thin plastic model, you´ll find air.
The truth is that it is closer to the B197. Or, curiously, to the FW18/FW19, yes!!
Damon's Arrows A18 (with more angles than the smooth A19) is also an option.

The fact the A19 is all black with striking white logos would, though, hide the unaccuracies...

To be honest, I think B197 is the closest, but it doesnt mean that would be easy.
I think I will not be dealing with any of these conversions. Just leave the F310 in the junke box.

It´s a shame.... why not a ´98 Ferrari car? it has some sponsor differences
The B197 is an option till you check you´d have it much easier from a B195 (not that hard to come by)

Re: Easy question, difficult Answer...
'98 Ferrari wouldn't work well. Narrow wheelbase and grooved tyres... An F1-2000 would be the better starting point.

Ah, yes you´re right, Jay!

I have a few broken 310B on stash, im thinking in making the Arrows either, B197, Lola T97/30 and maybe one FW18, it will give a lot of work but as they are spare kits, i think it maybe worth the hard work... There is some parts that i´ve already separate for another works like the wheels for academy B195 and suspensions, wings, wheels for a maisto die cast 310A in 1/20...
