McLaren MCL35M 2021
Re: McLaren MCL35M 2021
But this is not seen every day. Some of our colleagues go to extremes! This is not criticism, but endless admiration. Thanks to Thomas for sharing

Re: McLaren MCL35M 2021
I created a little gimmick for the car - #3 board of Lando Norris.
The foot of the board is a 2-part 3D printed part. The sheet metal is 0.1mm brass. It will be painted black and then gets decals on both sides.

In addition, yesterday I adjusted or had to adjust 3 things. Redbox once again supported me with the rims - he had already adapted them for himself. But everything from the beginning.
When assembling the rear wing, I noticed another little thing - the front curved retaining element was a little too long.
Accordingly, I simply shortened it again - it does not go over the entire wing to the rear.
Then I created a small additional element for the cockpit. A detail from the more recent F1 history is the leg / knee foam. I had seen it in a different kit or model and thought it would be a good and easy idea to make the kit even more real.
I owe you the pictures for it, I just haven't photographed it yet.
The last one was yesterday that I spoke to Sauro Torreggiani, some will know him. And we talked about a detail on the rims. I found out that the current setup is not 100% correct and needs to be corrected. There is also an inner aero ring on the Monaco front wheel rims. This is set slightly lower than with the other GP's and also has a different internal shape, possibly due to adapted brake ventilation. The exposure of the pictures in Monaco was partly worse than in other races, so I didn't notice it at first. I assumed this ring would not have existed here. Here I was lucky that Redbox had already made an adjustment to the ring element for itself. This fits very well with the image of the rims from Monaco and I was able to take them over with his help.

1st spec with ring -> new spec with ring

So it doesn't get lengthy. But I think now it should be done.

I have been following this in the background. Its looking great Thomas! The quality of the part finish is impressing me greatly
I think #3 Monza is a better option though Especially for us Aussies
Cant wait to see some colour on it.
Cheers. Tim

Re: McLaren MCL35M 2021
I can understand that very well, even if I'm not a fan of the Shoey.
But Daniel is a mega sympathetic guy, I like him too and I was happy too.
For Monza it would mean further changes. But I've already thought about implementing it. Even if I don't know if I would / will build it myself.
I would also have to design another set of decals. But the way to the goal wouldn't be that far either... in any case, it is worth considering.
But first I want to finish this set and I think the livery is so great. Hence the decision to take this GP in Monaco.

Hi Thomas,
The pit board is great. You should consider selling them.

Yes the pit board is great. It was a quick idea and I love the result too.
I will sell the kit if all is ready, but only in a small amount or limited edition - I think not more than 10 pcs.
