McLaren MCL35M 2021
Because the question was asked how detailed the McLaren will be, I opened a new topic.
Here are the pictures of the printed parts.
http://steinietrabi-skoda-fabia.de/Modellbau/McLaren%20MCL35M/IMG_3310.jpg
It is also constructed like the other two vehicles. However, you learn from your mistakes and grow in technology and so this time I also included the mirrors.
But to answer the question - yes, I would say the McLaren should be as detailed as the other two vehicles.
I would say in some areas it is the most filigree car of all three. Sometimes I really have to be careful not to destroy something while washing.

The elements on the wings are also finer.

That's why there are 2 front wings on the picture... I simply washed away the small retaining elements with the first print.
There are already 2 changes to the basic model, which can also be seen. I swapped the camera (new one in the first picture with all the printed parts) and the rear suspension or the rim got a different inner (left is updated version, right the old version). Therefore there are now 2 parts more.

The chassis is constructed similarly to the other two vehicles.

All parts have now been printed, largely released from the support and reworked. The floor plate is still missing on the photos. It is printed in one piece together with the bardge boards.
Unfortunately I hadn't taken any pictures yet, but I'll hand them in when things really get going. Currently, however, the whole thing is in a box and waiting. I'm still working on the W12 and decaling the AMR21. One after the other. And if things get stuck here or there, then maybe I'll continue here.

Re: McLaren MCL35M 2021
The model is from May I think, but I did some adjustments togehter with João and I do not know what all he changed for his Monaco livery model?
I am in direct contact with him, not through a platform, but we never taked about this issue.
He told me that he will make a special model, but he also make some simplifications for printing and I didn't want them because the model is then less precise and less detailed.

Wow, another build on the run, splendid!
Your printer is working overtime i guess, do you think it is possible to do the prints with the Mars as well? I`m not sure, but the printing space might be enough. The only point i wonder is did you print the Body in an angle or straight/standing?
Also the undertray, from the dimensions it should be possible on a Mars, but it also depends on the angle your printing it.

Re: McLaren MCL35M 2021
With Mars it is actually not possible to print the parts like this. Because then you would really have to put it upright.
I think the print quality would suffer here or there would be a lot of rework due to the poor support.
Of course, I also use almost the entire surface of Saturn to reduce printing times.
But it has tipped twice in parts and is not flat on the floor. That wouldn't work 100% either, since neither the floor plate nor the chassis is level on the underside.

Another one???? I’m starting to feel genuine hatred friendly but hatred anyway...
OMG!!! go for it!

Thank`s for explaining Thomas, i had a little hope, but it makes sence. Straight upward might cause some trouble, even when setting supports by hand it is hard to cover all the edges and steps.steinietrabi wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 9:15 am With Mars it is actually not possible to print the parts like this. Maybe i will give it a try when i find some datas to do a test one day, but first up is learning how to make the basic settings.
I will follow your progress with great interest!

Nothing is impossible but I do not know if it's fun to do it.
I printed the W12 with a Mars too, but it's a lot of work on glueing, putty work and sanding time...

Re: McLaren MCL35M 2021
The rear wheel separation was made by you? Rear wheel looks poor in detail compared to Mercedes: bulges are missing all around the edge.

Re: McLaren MCL35M 2021
Yes, I made the separation, it didn't look so nice and so it's a little more realistic now.
But you're also right that the bulges are missing, maybe I'll add them...
