Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
We continued on the chassis this week.
For the first Capri, I didn't quite divide the trunk.
Now it will look a little better, I hope.
Still a lot to do until it fits.
greetings Christian

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
First modeling parts made on my printer.
Prototype parts who need some more tweaking for the next print.
But its a good start for the next projects.

Oh wow! Congratulations to your first attemp on printing one on your own Christian, looks like a nice base to start, will follow this one and the work on the Capri!
Take a stand!

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Hi Christian,
NICE! And I think I have an idea where it is from . Looking good indeed. I've always thought of doing that and then reworking it for printing purposes. As you mentioned you would want to change some things for the next print, what are the parts that you would change, I mean other than the fillered lip? Maybe the vents above the front wheels as a separate piece as the forward mosts vents (3 or 4) seem to have some issue and might be difficult to clean when they are in the body.
Out of curiousity how long did it take to print this over all. I think it was at least 2 pieces, likely more? If I would try this, I would probably do the doors separate, then front and rear clam shell separate and then finally the piece between doors and rear. You could add small lips to that middle piece for the doors and the hood to rest on so you will have a flush finish as the model itself probably does not have any detail modelled there (doors closed and all that).
So now you've started the next level. Awesome!

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Hi Roman,
i cut the body in 4 pieces for printing.
The vents are included but i used a cut line that was too near the begin of the vents.I hope the second one will be a bit better. But they are ok right now. They are open and thats more than i expected.
Every part needed round about 5-6 hours. The biggest part took 10 hours of printing.
Quiet happy with the result so far.
I thought i will add some small pieces plastic before i glue the parts together.
There are still lots of work to do........more for the printer than me.
The chassis and wheels and fake engine have to be prepared for printing.
In the meantime i can go back to the capri.
regards Christian
