Home from work. Christian, you are so far past my skills..I think I'll just let you continue. No doubt you will figure it out.
Normally when making molds, we would keep everything on the thin side to stop heat buildup that can cause warping and actually allows some flexability to the mold to help remove the original part. Many times I have broken a part trying to remove it from a mold or broken a mold trying to save a part. Five coats of wax is the rule out there.

And here is the result.

It was realy easy going off the mould and nothing is ruined.

Thanks for watching and thanks for your comments. My way must be nor the right one,but i got it started and will bring them to an end like that.

I thought you were going to make the body a one piece mold! I was scared it wouldn't come out. Section by section is far more forgiving. It's going to be so cool!!
Did you scribe the panel lines by hand or mill them with a machine?

I used this thing here for the panel lines.

And the rest is made with an radius gauge.

My target is the stripped body from this pic.

But the doors will be open and everything will be ready to remove and put it on again.
I will also use another livery of the car.It will be an D&W car from Klaus Niedzwiedz.

Thanks!

Hello,

today i made the last negativ mould for the capri.
Here is an overview over all the moulds i need.

Image

Everything was easy to made without any big problems.Only the part at the back for the rearlights made some trouble.
I think i must fill the deeper parts when i make the "bodypart".

Image

Here is the roof from the capri.I must cut out the windows and make the outer parts to the markings on the laminate.
Again i used the combination of surface resin+laminat resin+laminat matt.
I thought i could use only laminate resin+matt, but i got a lot of bubbles and so i changed my way.

Meanwhile i ordered some stuff from rainbow10.So i got some rims from the porsche 934 and some engine parts from the caterham 1/12 scale cars on the way to me.

First parts are ready.

The roof.....

Image

Its a bit dirty, but it needs the finish sanding before i clean it.

Image

The hood is finished yet.

Image

A view from down under.I´m happy with the thickness of the hood. Its about 1,2-1,5mm thick and stable enough,i hope?

Kind Regards

Hi Don,

selling the capri as a kit?
Never thought about it.
But i dont think so.Its a lot of work to make it to an good car.Its enough when i build two for myself.

I got so much other projects in my mind. But so less time to make it real.

You say two bodies have been done, so this means there will be another of these beauties gracing F1M at a later stage?
