Hello,

Thanks for the comments.

I did some more step to the Senna figures of 1988, the visor and the head are not yet glue, the decals are coming next.

Hello,

Thanks Thomas

A bit of more step to the Senna figure of 1988, the decals are from Wim ( Bestbalsakits ), they are very easy to apply, + they fit for all McLaren seasons.

Great work Franck, the shading/highlight on the suit makes it look so real.

Hello,

Thanks guys

I did a stupid mistake when I cleaned my brushes, some drops of solvent went to the top of the Senna’s helmet, so I have to clean all the helmet, I was very annoyed because the decal from Wim (Bestbalsakits) fitted nicely and were easy to apply, I have to check which one among I still have now to repair this accident that I will use.

Image

I started to do the Peterson Helmet the decal are from Decalpool, I really like it, easy to work with Micro-sol to adjust the position, like the BBK decal, just a small mistake with the polar bear, but not a big deal, because a good one is included in the Hasegawa kit or on the tabu decal.

Another thing to correct, to the back of the driver, between to paint or add a black decal colour, I chose the black decal.

I will try to improve some small details.

I have noticed that in the first part of the 1978 season the polar bears were a bit lively. Sometimes they looked forward and sometimes they looked back. At some races one looked at the front and the other at the rear.

Yes, I was a bit surprise as well with bear in the different direction, but what I finally noticed is that with the GPA helmet, the polar bear looks to the front to the right side and looks back to the left side.

I'm sorry about the Senna helmet. I can imagine how annoying that was. But luckily you were able to save face!

And with Peterson, another character comes to life. :D
The helmet color turned out well. Maybe a little dark but pictures can be deceiving and matching the color of the helmet is pretty damn hard too. I remember this has been a topic in the past.

You right Thomas it is hard to match compare the real color from the pictures, and the result on my screen of what I did seems a bit darker as it is as well, I will try to take pictures outside to see.

I notice that a white seal was missing, so I did it with a white line decal.

Image

I add the sun visor to compete the helmet, here it is with the Andretti’s helmet.

Image

I finish the figure as well.

Image

I carry on a bit with Piquet, the decal are from Museum collection, they need softener + air dryer to be apply, not that so easy, the 1987 decal seem ok for the car but they are only the 1986 decal for the driver, then I will have to do some.

Image

I will brush this figure in matt when I will put all the decals.

Cheers
