Wanted: 1:20 Hard to find models.

Post by Seiiki »

Hello everyone:

For the last couple of years, I was away from modelling due to career aspirations and other commitments diverting my time away from collecting and more importantly, building models of course. (Well, who isn't in this expert group Worldwide anyhow? )

Anyhow, I have spotted how quickly that current productions of plastic and multimedia models are either quickly discontinued or completely sold out due to very limited initial production.

There is a list that I would really want and would definitely pay a fair market price (not the ripped off ransom on eBay and other sites):

They are all in 1:20 Scale:

1. Ebbro #20004, Lotus 49B 1969.
2. Ebbro (Tamiya), Lotus 33 Coventry Climax FWMV, 1965
3. Beemax - Aoshima #20558, Brabham BT52b, 1983 European GP Version (with photo-etch included).
4. Monopost MP037, Mercedes W08 2017 United States GP.
5. NewScratch Mercedes F1 W10 EQ Power+, 20F19N4477Rd17(2020)
6. NewScratch Mercedes F1 W11 EQ Power+, 20F20N4477Rd14(2021)
7. NewScratch RedBull RB16b, 20F21N3311Rd16 (2021)

Any leads or please connect me through to sellers of these kits would be much appreciated.

Thank You,
Canice

Those are really rare kits you're looking for... some of them are also on my list ;)

The Ebbro Lotus 49B is usually around €60, which was always too much for me for these kit.

EBBRO 20027 1:20 Team Lotus Type 33 1966 US$42 / ¥5,500
https://www.ebay.com/itm/EBBRO-20027-1- ... Sw8gNhd7Ie
https://romu-romu.com/SHOP/20027.html

As far as I know, the Brabham BT52b is currently sold out everywhere, so the price here is also very high. You may still find one or the other kit in a model shop around the corner.

W08-W10-W11 are almost impossible to get, unless someone who has bought one wants to sell it, but then the price is usually correspondingly high...

RB16B is currently available for new pre-order from RomuRomu in Japan delivery in June - WMK2003 - Price ¥33,000

Thank you everyone for your help. I am looking for them still. The last Monopost and those NewScratch are indeed hard to find and very ridiculous. Especially with the $700 USD plus ransom being charged by an eBay seller.

Still, better to look around and ask than to be completely ripped off.

Thanks again, I will keep looking in the meantime. If anyone have any leads or helpful suggestions, please inform me and that would be much, much appreciated,

SIncerely,
Canice

Somehow, the BT52B has become even harder to find than 09 Yamaha YZR M1s. I keep hoping Aoshima will rerelease them, but as of yet.....

Well, I tried to order the BT52B which was available at Pegasus Hobby in South Africa of all places. It was not cheap as the kit was about $101 CDN. However, on their online form, they wouldn't have anything past the South Africa local code so I couldn't complete with my Canadian Address.

Simple things, I kindly left them a message with my address so they could update. Seriously, something so simple to fix .... Go figure hahaha!

Regards,
Canice.

Yeah, you couldn't order directly from Studio 27 for the same reason, when I tried, 5 or so years ago.....and now their web site is more of a museum site. I'd say your best bet at a 52B would have been Yahoo Japan but there aren't any there either, it's crazy. Glad I got one of the 12 that Aoshima produced.
The funny thing is; i've seen MFH 1/20 kits with Buy Nows cheaper than the Aoshima kit.

I had this site bookmarked for their racing harnesses, but now I can't tell if the site is live or dead, maybe give the email address a try?

My suggestion is to keep using the Googleling skills.
I eventually found a Tamiya RB6, SF70 and F60 for retail prices in obscure webshops.
It often requires the use of Google Translate, and sometimes find the shop's facebook pages etc. to establish contact, but worth trying.

Good luck!
