Senna Kart 1993 - Photos

Post by steinietrabi »

I didn't want to do it at first, but now it's got me.
I will probably also build Senna's kart from 1993 with which he drove at the Elf Master Karting Indoor in Bercy.
To be able to detail the kart as well as the 1981 version, I am looking for pictures of the kart.
Unfortunately the selection is even worse than that of the 1981 Kart.
Can one of you help me.
I found 2 pictures from an exhibition in Brazil as far as I read / understood correctly.

Maybe someone has more pictures of you from this exhibition.

Thanks for the pictures and the link to the video.
But I've already collected all of the pictures. :?
Unfortunately, the quality of the pictures and the video is not that great. :(
That makes sifting through and the comparison with the kit not easy.

But it will go on ...

You can't really believe that there are so few pictures of such an event.

Yeah there is not much around about this race, sometimes it`s realy hard to get some good pictures or informations about it.
I can`t say which Kart he drove, not realy confirm with these, but maybe you find out the producer (like Tony Karts for example) it should be possible to find more detailed pics. ;)

Did a short search and this might be interesting for you, seems to be a Tecno chassis with a Komet engine. Pictures looking matching when doing a search on google, maybe you have to dig a bit more and you will find detailed pics about it.

Thanks for the search / help first.

Yes I think it is a KOMET NAP with a Tecno chassis.
Probably an IAME K35 engine with 135cc.
I'm currently still looking for the carburetor type ... but a few pictures from an exhibition would be really great.
Because even with the knowledge of the right type, pictures of the old karts / engines are difficult to find.

I also registered in this forum on to put a few questions to the experts.
Maybe they can shed some light on the darkness. :D

Be carefull when it comes to such exhibition pics, even the ones you have posted don`t match the real version, even my own posted pics show a different livery in some points, but surely taken at one of the 2 days at Bercy.
Is your plan to recreate everything? I think it will be hard to detail things like a carburator in that scale, wish you luck to find what your searching for.

Yes, I know the NAP logos on the front are wrong, but I'm mainly interested in more detailed images.
I remember to be careful and also compare the pictures a lot!

Senna had a bigger crash on the 1st day, I think that's why the new handlebar cover with the additional NAP logo comes on the 2nd day.

But the paintwork is only a minor problem.

I already have very good pictures for overall and helmet, so that shouldn't be an issue either.

I will try to swap as much as possible and to go into more detail.
What is definitely done are these things:
- cut and detail steering (much too thick)
- detail the brake
- brake lines
- adjust the fuel tank and lay the fuel lines
- customize the airbox
- build a carburetor
- build mounts for the rear axle
- free the frame for the too much brackets
- attach the exhaust bracket / springs
- fit the spark plug and distributor
- reshape seat mounts
- provide the pedals with the correct components / springs
- change the bottom plate
- reshape various brackets
- attach additional screws

I will definitely do a WIP when I start with it.
But I still need some information and am currently collecting pictures and additional information.
