Being that his era was 10 years before me discovering F-1, I had a lot to learn. I mistakenly assumed he was mostly a 2nd driver/also-ran. Couldn't be more wrong! I'm fascinated by the one race he was to fill in for Nikki Lauda, where Nikki surprised everyone and came back early, and Ferrari ran 3 cars. The scant footage of that race, and few grainy pics, showed he ran with number 35 on his car. You could tell the numbers were hastily slapped on, as they didn't quite fit in the trapezoids which were obviously designed for #1 and 2. If someone were to scrounge up some #35 decals and Carlos Reutemann script decals, he could build a fairly unique model. I also plan to build his FW-07 as my next project.

Reutemann, as well as the likes of Peterson, Andretti & Lauda were the earliest drivers I learned about, when as a kid I collected the 1978 F1 cards album. That year he was one of the top drivers, winning races and podiums with Ferrari, so he made an impression on me.
RIP
