Re: Help for Fittipaldi, Mass and Patrese shoes’ 1980
Bill Simpson’s brand has been hugely popular in the North American market for over five decades, and became very fashionable on the international scene in the late 70’s & early 80’s, much of it because it was the brand of choice worn by Mario Andretti and Gilles Villeneuve. The Simpson Bandit he...

Re: Help for Fittipaldi, Mass and Patrese shoes’ 1980
From 1980 (which the photos would indicate) they would probably be either Simpson or Adidas. All are wearing Simpson firesuits in the photos. And also as far back as 1981 you’ll find photos of Didier Pironi wearing Puma racing boots. https://www.ebay.fr/itm/185594037033?hash=item2b36444329:g:PggAAOS...

Re: Lemans Movie Tribute
Terrific builds! I recently purchased the 512S, and can only hope I will look as nice as those. Mine will be the #7 Peterson-Bell entry.

Re: 1994 Indy 500
I was there in ‘92, and it was a miserable day, miserable race. Freezing cold & windy, the race was a crash-fest, starting with the pole sitter (Guerrero) on the pace lap. This year will be my 50th Indy 500, the 1973, and 1992 races were the worst I can remember. My favorites were 1982 & 198...

Re: Ronnie Peterson and his Lotus 72's
As I recall, after the ‘73 Swedish GP the rear wing/oil cooler assembly with the addition of a spacer was moved further aft, and from the German GP on a larger, more square opening air box was installed. After Austria the oil coolers were mounted much lower behind the rear wheels on each side of the...

Re: 1/12 MFH December
Interesting timing releasing this right on the heels of the release of the iconic 512S? It’s staggering to realize that it was only twenty-one years between the 166, and the 512S!

Re: MFH news?
I have one ordered & on the way, very much looking forward to its arrival. The accident that took out half of the Ferrari’s was started by Reine Wisell’s slow moving Scuderia Filipinetti 512, Reine could barely see because a car blew its engine in front of him and his windshield was coated with ...

Re: MFH news?
Super excited about this! As a lifelong Superswede fan this is a must have, his one & only LM ride. And it appears to include the roof bubble for he & Derek’s #7 mount. The earlier 1/24 version required fabricating one.
