Re: Studio 27 1:20 BAR 002, Japan 2000
I did get the model finished but it took 1 week instead of the 24 hours. It was a bit liberating not trying to be perfect. It really moved the project forward fairly quickly. I am spreading out the posts a bit so there is not too much at once. So I got 4 hours of sleep and had about 4 hours to the d...

Re: Studio 27 1:20 BAR 002, Japan 2000
While the primer coat was drying on the body, I started on the little winglets and barge boards. That was when I realized I should have attached them to the body before priming. Fiddling with them after the body was painted white is inviting disaster. http://www.alexkung1.com/scale/bar02/bar02_files...

Re: Studio 27 1:20 BAR 002, Japan 2000
http://www.alexkung1.com/scale/bar02/bar02_files/image007.jpg So after puttying and sanding the body it was quickly primed with Plasticote Sandable Primer. The undertray and rear suspension was painted with flat black from a spray can. I think it was around midnight. If you look closely at the rear...

Re: Studio 27 1:20 BAR 002, Japan 2000
So while the body was drying from the puttying I wasted no time and started to clean up the white metal parts. I then assembled the gearbox and rear suspension. http://www.alexkung1.com/scale/bar02/bar02_files/image004.jpg Problem number 2 http://www.alexkung1.com/scale/bar02/bar02_files/image005.jp...

Studio 27 1:20 BAR 002, Japan 2000
It has been years since I completed an F1 car even though it is my favourite model subject. Recently there was an online build. Try and build a model in 24 hours during the Daytona 24 hours. I accepted the challenge hoping I could finish something. I chose this kit as it looked fairly easy. White wi...

Italeri Renault Re20 1/12
Hmm several questions here I saw the Italeri 1/12 Renault RE20 and made the assumption that it was a reissue of the Protar kit. Question 1 However the Protar kit was the RE23. Are they the same kit? Question 2 While at the local hobby store I heard some information that was new to me. They were sayi...

Wanted: Studio 27 Jaguar XJR-9 CF decals
I just started the Tamiya kit and am looking for the Studio 27 CF decal sheet. I have checked the usual sources with no luck. I have seen the Scalemotorsports CF template set but it does not include the decals for the interior. If someone does not have a set to sell is there any way I can get a scan...

Re: Cutting Printer help
I have a Silhouette Quickitz. It is about 4 generations old compared to the newest model. At the time I got it Silhouette allowed me to cut my own artwork whereas the Cricut didn't. I use it to cut self adhesive Vinyl for masks. Since it is a bit stronger than something like Tamiya mask I believe I ...

Re: Desktop lamp advice request...
I have several lamps that I use. I have an Ottlite that throws natural light and is supposed to be easier on the eyes. When I got mine Ottlites were fairly pricey https://www.amazon.ca/Ottlite-Folding-Accurately-Adjustable-PL13/dp/B07H23HY2S/ref=sr_1_4?crid=BK7HQM11R2GY&keywords=ottlite+13W&...

Re: "THIS IS THE END..." of an era. What you think?
I have always watched f1 since the late 80s. Even if it seemed like a certain driver that I did not like was dominating and was almost sure to win, I would still wake up early or stay up very late to try and watch it live because you never know what is going to happen. I liked the engineering and ne...
