I'll just wait for home CNC machines, and rapid prototyping. Both technologies are used for years now. I'm not sure what are you going to wait for ? It makes sense to wait for some company to pick up on the market of car models, like Paul suggested referring to Eduard from aircraft market. But that...

Re: open source modeling
A couple of comments, which I hope will be taken as constructive and not as negative. I myself did / do not like paying $1 each for some small turned aluminum part, such as a tire valve stem. Convinced there must be a cheaper way, I 'found' one. My local CNC machinist would be quite happy to make a...

open source modeling
I don't know how and if it'd work, but I hoped to draw some interest. Doesn't seem to be the case. I will still however post my first try. For a few weeks over last 3 years I've worked on brake detail sets design in 1/20 scale. I finally reached the point where I've created 2D drawings for machinist...

"subscriber" lists and "open source" mod
I'm not sure if people do not pay attention or aren't interested, so I've decided to make it separate topic. I hope some others beside me would have opinions to express. Here are thoughts from other thread on the subject of new kits. How about we start petition to Revell or Tamiya with our "pre...

The quality of kits has definitely improved. When I opened latest 1/20 MFH F248 kit, I was literally scared with number of parts and complexity of its design. I believe current MFH kits have surpassed all 1/12 and 1/20 Tamiya kits to date in number of parts and complexity. So, I think technology to ...

What puzzles me is that Revell DE still makes 1/24 modern cars and it seems profitable for them. I wish there was easy way for them to upscale mold by factor of 2 and sell some number of 1/12 kits. With all complains about quality, I would still buy them even if they were just 1/24 x 2 Revell models...

RE: Review : Studio 27 BMW Sauber F1.06
If Tamiya or Fujimi or some other company was producing plastic 1/20 kits of modern F1 cars, I'm sure many would not spend $$$ on S27 and even MFH kits. But, if you want a kit of some modern F1 subject in 1/20, there isn't much choice :( PS: I know there are some 1/24 kits produced, but I for one ca...

I have bigger problem - I so don't want to screw my kits, I don't even build them. No, seriously. That's one of the biggest factors holding me from building at the moment. And also after seeing great builds in the Net, I don't want to do mediocre job, I want every kit to be perfect and super detaile...
