Re: Colin Mcrae's 2000 Ford Focus WRC in Mid Air
I don't know where, but at some point in the past I have heard that they brake once they are airborne to stop the wheels spinning as that causes some sort of aerodynamic malarky (probably drag or lift) which is less with static wheels... but looking at some of this year's WRC jump footage shows that...

Re: Who will place second in the 2023 US Grand Prix?
Well on the driver weights. Was it car+driver back then or just a minimum weight for the car? I don't have a clue about current F1 rules, but I know that both car and driver are weighed. There's likely a minimum weight for the car. If there is a combined minimum weight for driver + car, you could ma...

Re: Look for Meng McLaren MP4/4 in the wild
The lap of the gods is usually referring to the first lap of the Donington GP 1993 where he started in 5 or 6th place (or thereabouts) and overtook all the greats of the time in the first lap (Schumacher, Hill, Prost) in the wet. That quote about the qualifying lap for Monaco being his best performa...

Re: Who will place second in the 2023 US Grand Prix?
I would love to see that (seat switcheroo) or something like a race of champions type affair. Both get the same car, preferably not one they've driven before - or one where they get to drive it for a day to adapt to it - and then are racing against each other. But maybe one person is faster in terms...

Re: 1/12 Lotus 99t NUNU
The tires in the Lotus are better but not by much. The two kits both have ugly ass screws holding the suspension arms on so that is a wash. The MP4 IMHO is the better and more complete kit. The detail up set for the Lotus is nice but the CF decals should have been included with the base kit. I will ...

Re: Ferrari F40 LM 1/8 Centauria
Wow, Bodo, those outside shots look like the Rene Staud pictures from 1987/88 of the F40. Perfect. This interior shots not so much - no F40 was ever built that well :D You've done an incredible job on a my favourite car. And I didn't even know the racing version existed as a kit, let alone as a 1/8....
