Little of topic - BigDuke6, do you have more detail shots ? Probably we could start separate thread with references.

RE: Re: RE: FW16-FW19 1/20 brake detail set prototype

I thought if I show my prototypes it would sparkle the interest. Doesn't seem to be the case. I'll show the rest of them anyway, for my own satisfaction. I spent great deal of my time on them. If anyone is interested to see those produced, let me know via PM or email or here on this thread. Without ...

RE: Re: RE: FW16-FW19 1/20 brake detail set prototype

SLA was cheapest option I could find. CNC is cheap only when you do thousands and more. All of known here machinist are fully booked, I asked. There was a local person with lathe willing to help, but I just couldn't wait any longer. I felt I would need to show something first to spike interest. I ca...

RE: FW16-FW19 1/20 brake detail set prototype

This is only a prototype. To get 7 small components produced on SLA machine it cost me over $200.
On this page I have more pictures including view of parts from SLA in their original state.

FW16-FW19 1/20 brake detail set prototype

Have bitten the bullet and ordered SLA prototypes. It's not perfect and was expensive, but as far as I'm concerned it is sufficient as a proof of concept for my design. I'm biased, but I think it's very nice. It actually looks better in person. Couldn't quite get proper pictures, need better lightin...

MP4/6's and 641's calipers are quite different. Just looked at 641's and FW14B's calipers, if you want to reuse calipers from existing kit, FW14B's would be closer to F2002's shape. Still not very accurate. If JamesB takes on with this castings I would get at least 5 sets for my F2002 and my R/C con...

Just finished scans and updated "Brake research" page. You can see new images there or download original scans from here http://lezdep.dyndns.org:8080/f1/ref/F2002_scans.zip If you're building F2002 you might find some new photos in my archive here http://lezdep.dyndns.org:8080/f1/ref/F200...

I plan to build F2002 from Revell one day. But I want to correct a lot of things in the kit. Don't have required skills yet. Except rotors there aren't any correct parts for brakes in Revell kit, imho. Calipers are plain crap. Here are some pictures showing width of calipers. PS: Let me (re)scan pic...
