Re: What's wrong with Tamiyas 1/12 Lotus 49?

I like the idea of a "Problem List" for the Tamiya 1/12ths as well. For example, I've read that their early Ford DFVs were oversized, due to the motorized fad .... at what point/kit did they correct that? Perhaps the experts out there could also tell us which race or season does each Tamiy...

Very nice! I have this one on the shelf, so I'll watch your build with great interest.

Coincidentally, I just finished reading "Conquest of Formula 1" re: The history of Honda in F1.
Not a lot of detail photos, but a very interesting read.

Re: Williams FW19 (1:24 Revell)

Add my two thumbs up to the chorus of a great build of a lacklustre kit.

I, too, would like to know what tobacco decals you used? Much better livery than the "?" and "Hype" decals Revell provided.

Re: TAMIYA 12056 just announced...

Yes the Enzo and the Carrera was released some years ago. the are also not a complete kit. A semi die-cast kit which was released for building it. They don't count for me, even the subject don't count for me. Actually, no .... those were a different collector's version of the cars. I have the 1/12t...

Re: 1/12 Ferrari 312T Instructions

I PM'ed Lou just to get his email address, as I couldn't find it on his profile. I have a .pdf of the entire english manual, which Tamiya USA used to offer on their website (I think they just want to sell them to you now...), and didn't know if it was proper (or too large) to post it here.

Re: Wired wheels lacing technique question

Smirkoff, may I ask what home printer you did try, and what resolution is necessary to get the fine looking spokes?

Re: The scarcity and rarity (and prices!) of plastic kits

Using the Porsche 934 as an example, I wonder what the actual production run was, and how Tamiya decided on that number? In a lot of shops, they were all sold out even on "Pre-Sale" status. At near $200, that was still around 1/2 what the eBayers were asking for the previous release. I sus...
