Re: Tamiya 1/20 Ferrari SF70H

Honestly I didn't really expect the S27 decals to be perfect, I imagine it would be a lot of work to develop well fitting decals as a third party company without access to the original model in CAD. Yours is coming along nicely! Did you attach the little winglets and front wing mounts before paintin...

Fujimi 1/20 Ferrari 641/2

This build will be a gift for my father. I'll be building it OOB apart from replacement decals from Indycals and fill-in decals from MSM. The kit itself is much more complex than Tamiya's F1-89 kit, with maybe twice the amount of sprues. The brakes in particular are much better, consisting of multip...

Tamiya 1/20 Ferrari SF70H

Started the Tamiya SF70H recently. The fit of all of the parts are spot on, but it's quite complex for painting. Add that to the fact that I'll be using the S27 CF decals and planning ahead is quite complicated. Filling the ejector pin markings as best I can - not bothering to do a perfect job as it...

Re: Haas VF-18 conversion parts

Thank you all!! This is incredible, I’m trying to decide what to do with my kit. Would you ever consider making parts for a later season SF70H? Bargeboard, rear spoiler, T-wing etc. Now that I have a lot of the kit parts scanned, that's a possibility. I'll study that. Thank you for the suggestion!!...

Re: Lacquer base coat over 2K clear

There shouldn’t be any problem shooting lacquer over fully cured 2K. I was trying to get rid of imperfections in my 2K clearcoat but wasn’t careful and accidentally sanded through to primer on an edge. I sanded around the area just to level the paint and remove more of the surrounding 2K, then shot ...

Re: What’s your process for painting the inside of monocoque

Thanks for the input so far, everyone!

Follow up question is whether lacquer thinner can be used to clean up paint on top of 2K without affecting the clear? I know I could test this easily myself but I don’t have access to my work station for the next few weeks

What’s your process for painting the inside of monocoques?

I’m curious what everyone’s process is for painting the underside of monocoques? Do you bother priming the underside? Do you paint the black before or after the colour coat? Before or after clear coat? What kind of black paint? I currently prime both sides of the monocoque and then spray semi-gloss ...

Re: Selling Kits???

I'd say to make sure to follow PayPal's guidelines to protect yourself as a seller (e.g. make sure to ship with tracking, take photos of the item before and after packing with a date stamp, etc.). Another option would be to require people with less than x posts to pay via PayPal gift option, so they...
