Lotus 72 1970 - tyres.
Hey, To add to my Brawn 1/12 project I'm also tackling a 1/12 Lotus 72 of Rindt from 1970. I have everything for the conversion, other than the tyres with tread, as the ones that come in the 72D kit are slicks. Is there any place with these tyres readily available? I can't track down a 3D model good...

Re: 1/12 Brawn GP - 2009 Brazil - Custom Build
Such an interesting project! Are you planning to take all little bits of the front wing to paint and glue them separate or just do the best you can with the airbrush in all those small areas? I think it's large enough to do it all in once piece, so hopefully keeps it a bit more simple. I've done so...

Re: 1/12 Brawn GP - 2009 Brazil - Custom Build
How much work did you have to do on the car to print it? I've always loved the FW25 which is also in F1 2019 and thought of using some of the FW24 decals I have to help with the decals. A fair bit to be honest, split the mesh into parts, then smoothing each part, then making sure they all fit toget...

1/12 Brawn GP - 2009 Brazil - Custom Build
Hey all, it's about time I posted another WIP here, hopefully one you'll find interesting. As I make the switch from 1/20 kits to 1/12 i'm finding that there simply is not as much variety, which is understandable. I have been selling of a lot of my unbuilt 1/20 kits and re-buying them in 1/12 if pos...

Re: 1/12 Lotus 49 - What solutions have people used for the over-sized DFV?
I have the 1/12 Tamiya kit. I bought it as a used kit years ago for about 30 Cdn. Since its dimensions are in question, I check it against this drawing that I believe is from Lotus. 49-factory_24th.gif Here are the dimensions that I measured. I round up the measurement to 0.5 mm A: 1/12 - 220 mm; m...

Re: MFH kit for August 2021
So, does anybody know, what happened to MFH loosing the license to make Ferrari kits? A last minute deal was struck or are they just awaiting a cease and desist?

Re: 1/12 Lotus 49 - What solutions have people used for the over-sized DFV?
I dug into the bottom of the bits box and found an old Tamiya DFV block.... Wow the DFV in the older kits really does look different. I'm going to see if I can find some cam covers or spare sprues, and if not try and mock something up myself for the 3D printer. If I go down this route I'll share th...

Re: 1/12 Lotus 49 - What solutions have people used for the over-sized DFV?
When I do mine, I'll simply replace the block with other from the Tamiya breed. It's (AFAIK) mainly ancillary parts that make the difference between years so with a stock "metallic grey parts" set from whatever Tam, plus all the stiff like admission, injection, camcovers from the 49 you s...

1/12 Lotus 49 - What solutions have people used for the over-sized DFV?
Hey, As many of you may know the DFV in the Tamiya 1/12 Lotus kit is a bit... chunky. I've googled a bit, but my google-fu isn't up to scratch. Is there a post or anything where anybody has gone into detail about modifying the kit to include a more reasonably scaled kit. I'm tempted to case resin co...
