8th scale DeAgostini MP4/4 progress report

The rest of the Museum Collection decals from HLJ arrived and tobacco markings applied; body is just rested in place for these photos. I am very impressed with the decal markings, they look like they are painted on, very glossy. Fitting the tobacco markings to the drivers helmet was quite a chore, w...

Re: 8th scale Mclaren MP4/4 chassis buildup-6/9update

Thanks for the Compliments; I agree about the MC hairline decals, those are for the bottom of the car. As far as M*rlb*r* decals go, the USA installment version will come with them. I am still waiting for HLJ to get restock on the driver and rear wing decals.

8th scale Mclaren MP4/4 chassis buildup-6/9update

Nearly complete using mostly OOB construction and some Museum Collection carbon fiber and other decals. I am not as skilled as other builders here on this forum but I am pleased with the results so far. I chose to go with black carbon fiber instead of the factory flat or green/gold as the real car-a...

Re: 8th scale McLaren MP4/4 brake rotor help

Thanks for the suggestions guys: i will look into both suggestions. My fear is that putty will fall into the cooling holes and won't come out. I might try lathe turning as the real rotor has a recess that isn't on the model rotor.

8th scale McLaren MP4/4 brake rotor help

To further enhance this amazing kit I need advise on how to improve the brake rotor edge appearance; there is a seam on the kit parts where you join the front and back halves together- I would like to eliminate the seam-but don;t think Tamiya putty is best way- in fact I would prefer a cast rotor an...
