Re: 1/20 McLaren MP4/8 Late Season

Work continues on the McLaren. Here is the engine about 95% done. http://i.imgur.com/UL8cxji.jpg These carbon decals are horrible! They do not conform, they just shatter and the shapes are al off and need serious trimming. I must say I am rather disappointed with them . Here is the seat/driver's com...

Not F1 but still pretty cool - The Revell 1/25 Corvette C.7R is almost here. Great Planes (one of the biggest US distributors) has it listed as Late September for arrival. List price in the US is $24.95 - not bad at all. I believe it does have engine detail.

Re: Nascar at Monza - Yeah, I'd watch that

As far as COTA is concerned, NASCAR hasn't even considered it because there are already 2 races at Texas Motor Speedway (yawn) and unfortunately those races are there to stay until 2020. That's a shame, I'd love to see all the body roll through the esses. For IndyCar, they are not interested for 2 r...

This ought to be good! Question about the kit - does it also come with the "shovel" rounded nose in addition to the hammerhead nose?

Re: 1/20 McLaren MP4/8 Late Season

Some more progress on wiring up the McLaren. http://i.imgur.com/RHBY8fc.jpg http://i.imgur.com/m3aiQzy.jpg That's pretty much everything I'll do to the stock block, I've some smaller ancillaries to scratch build that will require some more wiring. I also have MFH carbon decals coming in the mail, so...

Re: 1/20 McLaren MP4/8 Late Season

Impressive work. Welcome to the forum and nice one for jumping straight in with a WIP. Can you tell us more about the rear wing? Did you separate the endplates from the wing profiles? Looks very clean and sharp. I like your heat shield idea too. I considered separating the endplates, as it would've...

1/20 McLaren MP4/8 Late Season

Hello everyone, This is my first WIP here and my first F1 car since I was a kid. I'm building Tamiya's lovely MP4/8, but I will be finishing it in the configuration Mika Hakkinen drove in the last 3 races of 1993. That means some minor modifications, including getting rid of those awful bargeboards!...

Re: What do you do for a living when your not building?

I'm a 20-year-old college student in Texas. I'm studying advertising, and I want to be a copywriter at an ad agency. In my days off from school, I work at a local hobby shop with a serious addiction to the employee discount. I drive a 1967 Volvo 122S with 620,000 miles and stalk local neighborhood s...
