Re: Austin GP 2022
If you're just there for the race and don't care about visiting Austin, go in the other direction. Bastrop is cheaper and entering the track from the East instead of the West will get you in and out of the track 10 times faster.

Re: 1962 Lotus 25 conversion
What a fascinating build! I will follow with interest. I'm trying to build a 25 for every year from '62-'65 and have never dared to attempt the '62 conversion.

Whoa, this is awesome! Impressive work, James. I support the idea of using the Renault cockpit as a base. It's a lot harder to tell if something is exactly 100% accurate to scale with so many compound curves.

Re: Building an F1 parts display like in old Tamiya catalogs?
Secondary question is whether anyone has built one themselves. I did a quick & dirty design in CorelDraw. I scaled up one of the catalog parts display to real size, and if you make it a landscape design, it fits nicely on an A3. One problem is that the catalog has the grid over the parts, and o...

STP Turbine '68 Indy 500 Double Build
Hello everyone, Finally finished a project that's been off and on for months. It's a pair of AMT Lotus 56 Turbine kits. I'll admit that the kits were better than I expected. A lot of flash that needed cleaning up, both for the most part the fit was good. I decided to build the two front-row cars - G...

Re: 1950s - the lost decade in models
I absolutely love 50's F1 models! I've been trying to collect as many 1/24 kits as I can get a hold of and building them. I've built the Merit Connaught, Vanwall, and Ferrari D50. I understand there's a Strombecker Maserati 250F out there and a Protar Merc W196. Also have a Heller Talbot Lago and a ...

Re: 1/24 1972 Ferrari 312 B3 Spazzaneve Press Version
Just read your WIP on the website. I would've never built that kit given all the cracking the body had and the general lack of quality in the kit - very nice work to save that.

Re: What is your least enjoyable task in modeling?
Great thread. I really hate trying to push wheels onto built (and fragile) suspensions. Lining up all the wheels and suspension is a pretty miserable task as well. Especially on NASCAR kits where the fit has a lot of play.

Williams FW07, Tamiya 1/20, 1979 British GP
Hi everyone, Here's a build I've been working on the past couple months. It's Tamiya's lovely 1/20 kit of the Williams FW07. Since it's such a nice kit I decided to really dig in and scratchbuild a lot of details. I finished it in the guise that Clay Regazzoni drove in Williams' first victory at Sil...
