Recommendations for US online hobby shop(s)
Wondering if there are recommendations for the best US based options. Used to order from Mac's Modeling. Any current suggestions?

experience with final assemblies 1/12 Tyrrell P34
After decades I'm finally building this Tamiya kit and really enjoying it. FWIW it's been educational to actually assemble a car from this era of rearward weight distribution. It is also striking how little protection the driver had with the lowline tub. I'm getting to the final steps for mounting r...

Re: 1/12 P34 brake caliper too tight when using PE
Thanks all, appreciate the insights. Tempted to leave them off, but those front suspension pictures look really nice. First time using PE on one of these kits, so glad to get the memo on the fact that allowances need to be made for the PE in situations like this. Regardless I staged all four using t...

1/12 P34 brake caliper too tight when using PE
I've recently started the Tamiya 1/12 P34, newer release with PE. On the front hubs, there are PE pieces that mount to the plastic disk rotor, but the additional depth does not allow the smaller half of the caliper to be glued to the larger (hub carrier). I've dug out one of the smaller caliper piec...

Re: Honda RA273 Tamiya - correcting the wheel width
Thanks for the excellent tips! I just showed this to my 15 year old, who I've told can drive my old '66 MGB if he can make it run. It hasn't run since 1993, so I figure a year until he can get a license is about right... I've suggested there are areas of the interweb like enthusiast forums, that mig...

Honda RA273 Tamiya - correcting the wheel width
The wheels included in this old kit are far too wide for the tires, particularly the fronts. I figure I can take some material off the inner edge of the inside half of the wheel. But I'd like some ideas about how best to do it, cleanly. My default is to use a Dremel cutting wheel , but it seems like...

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Tyrrell P34 cracked suspension question
Bjorn: thank you for sparing me from further indignity! Rasputen: My issue is with the inner attachments. The a-arm has "c" shaped clips that snap over posts on the chassis side. The outer end is a ball socket. Have not tried to attach those yet. I'll see if I can send a pic later. Tubegen...
