Re: STP Turbine '68 Indy 500 Double Build

Both look fantastic! And I can only imagine what they look like in person. It’s so ironic that Andy G’s entries that were always so innovative (the screaming 4wd Novi’s, the 4wd turbines, the Lotus 4wd 64, etc) would fail, only for him to finally score his first, and Mario’s only Indy 500 win with s...

Re: Who will win the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix?

Last time Zandvoort hosted the Dutch GP was August 25th 1985, my 23rd birthday…where have the years (and my hair) gone?
Niki Lauda won ahead of Mclaren teammate Alain Prost, with Senna 3rd for JPS Lotus. Great days!

Re: STP Turbine '68 Indy 500 Double Build

A few years ago Replicarz did a batch of STP Patrick Eagles from the ill-fated 1973 500, both the Johncock and Savage cars, and I thought they came closest to STP Day-Glo Red I’ve seen. But they still don’t have quite the same intensity. The real cars had a flourescent red that bordered on hot pink....

Re: STP Turbine '68 Indy 500 Double Build

As a spectator at the Indianapolis 500 all through the ‘70’s (next year will be my 50th Indy 500) I can back up the statement that the Granatelli/Patrick cars were VERY bright. Even on a overcast day the STP flourescent day-glo red looked positively neon! The photographic & lithographic processe...

Re: Lotus 72 number question

Numbers in races were assigned for various reasons until the mid-late 70’s. Where drivers or constructors finished in a particular race the previous year, previous years results in the drivers championship, or constructors championship etc,. Until the mid seventies race numbers varied from race to r...

Re: F1 Race in Miami Florida in 2022

On the bright side, if it does go ahead it can’t possibly be anymore of a train wreck than the Indycar race in Nashville last Sunday.

Re: MFH kit for August 2021

I was looking at what appears to be a long narrow body of water in the image. As far as mountains go, Watkins Glen is surrounded by mountains, and the circuit sits on top of one. It’s probably the LA area, I’ve never been there, so I’ll take your word for it. I was going from my experience, and what...

Re: MFH kit for August 2021

It’s Seneca Lake (Watkins Glen) from high above, probably a 312T3.
