Re: Paint Cracking - M@r!b*r* Fluorescent Red
I have used Mr Color 171 fluorescent Red before. yes the colour seem good for mclaren red. However, the fluro effect does fade away over time. I noticed this after 2 years painting my mclaren Mp4/12 (the lower section of the front nose). It looks like normal red now. The car was kept in a display ca...

Re: Paint Cracking - M@r!b*r* Fluorescent Red
Lose the TS 36. ALL of my Mclarens have cracks. Some took longer than others to crack but they're all cracked. I switched to Gaia 103 Fluo red and on my "current" Macs, both at least a year after painting have no cracks. And airbrushing fluo red gives you far more control than the can - t...

Re: Paint Cracking - M@r!b*r* Fluorescent Red
I haven’t used gravity, but assuming it is similar to Splash and Zero I have stopped using Tamiya white primer for these paints and switched to a very thin white automotive primer from Duplicolor When painting any of the color coats, I use multiple mist coats to build the color and no wet coats The...

Re: Clear Over Decals
i've used Mr Hobby Super Clear Gloss extensively, and up until i discovered Gravity 2k, it was my go to choice for clear coat. There is also another version, called the 'UV cut' which supposedly do not make the decals yellow over time. I do believe this is the case, as models that i've build years a...

Re: Chrome metallic markers
i second that, Molotow is excellent. However, i found 2 issues with Molotow: 1. It loses its 'chrome' effect if touch too much. maybe the paint reacts with the oils on our fingers. I now use rubber gloves to handle parts that has been painted with Molotow, it seems to work. 2. I have not found a sui...

Re: Favorite Pin Vise and bits
Tamiya pin vise for me.
I tried cheaper ones, the drill bits dont fit as well, and break more easily.
