Re: MFH 1/12 for April.
Ah well. My wallet safe for another month or two! A "niche" choice I would say - but good luck to MFH with it. Great colour scheme of course. At least they have the DFV and Hewland parts from numerous other releases. (Does anyone actually build MFH DFVs with the working internals? Has anyo...

Re: MFH 1/12 for April.
I do see the joke about the Lotus 88 being "passed" by the scrutineers at the 81 British GP but not being allowed to race. However personally I only want to build cars that actually raced reasonably successfully. However maybe that XJ13 sold well. More in hope than expectation I did just w...

Re: Fujimi Tyrrell P34 1/20 Quesion
Tyre decals were strange for me at least. I just couldn’t get them to “release” properly. Maybe I was doing them wrong but the instructions were in Japanese only so I must have been doing something wrong. There is no engine wiring but I am sure you could improvise in this area. Be wary of the side r...

Spare Tyres at Le Mans
I am nearing the end of a conversion of the old 1/12 Doyushu IMSA BMW CSL kit into the Calder Art Car from Le Mans in 1975. Once I have closed it up, I wont be able to get back in. Does anyone know if Le Mans entries still had to carry spare tyres in 1975? I believe that this was a rule at Le Mans i...

Re: 1/12 MFH Jan 2023
I am generally a sucker for any Cosworth-era F1 subject but the only March I would even think about spending £500+ on buying would be the Peterson 761!

Re: 1/12 MFH Jan 2023
The Brabham BT49 is one of very few championship winning cars never to have been properly kitted. Likewise FW08.
That style of trumpets only seemed to come in in the mid/late 1970s.
761 Monza 1976 would be excellent! Likewise Hesketh.

Re: Painting order - 1/12 CSL
I will do as you say. How amazing to find someone attempting the same project in California as I am in little old England! Thank you both. I as just thinking that if I got any white or yellow on the red or blue, it would be easier to tidy up - but I like the idea of starting with a semi gloss white ...

Painting order - 1/12 CSL
I am attempting a build of the ancient Doyushu 1/12 BMW CSL as a depiction of the rather wonderful Alex Calder Le Mans Art Car from 1975. So, I have a massive, primed, white, body shell with doors not yet attached. I have a colour scheme with the most common colour being red, but areas of yellow, bl...

Re: MFH customer support
I have had several missing parts on a Lancia Beta Montecarlo in the last couple of weeks. Immediate despatch of missing parts to the UK followed along with profuse apologies and the offer of free postage on another kit as it seems a whole sprue of resin parts was omitted. They are definitely working...

Re: Protar 312T2 - Tamiya 312 Engine
Yes - I was just illustrating that it is fairly easy to drop a Tamiya engine into the Protar kits. I guess it would be even easier putting one into the T2!
