Spare screws for mandrel
Hi all, I'm trying without much luck (so far) trying to narrow down what screw thread is used in the mandrels in high speed handheld motor tools, namely Dremel (but not exclusively). I doubt there isn't one amongst us who hasn't sheared off the retaining screw on a mandrel sanding cutting or grindin...

Re: White metal
I have started my first MFH kit. There is a good thread on this site about soldering white metal and I followed much of the advice from that. However, some of the parts are best served with epoxy. I have been using a product available in the US called JB Weld. The cure time is really slow but the b...

Re: White metal
Thanks for all the informative replies; as some of you have suggested I shot off an email to MFH but as you've noted CK; I shouldn't hold my breath waiting for a reply: usually if a rumour is neither denied or confirmed it's prudent to assume the worst; so I'll glove up and as you suggested CK; wet ...

Re: Sticky touch tyres
Not really sure; but could you liberally dust them in charcoal powder (or sand down a section of black chalk/artist's quality), tap off excess, then give them a wipe down with dry cloth ...?

Cleaning your AB ~ trouble with Alclad black base
I'm having trouble laying down Alclad II black base without getting small fibres showing up.... until using this stuff I've rarely if ever noticed this issue before as I usually AB matt or clear coat Gunze direct from the can. I use cotton buds/Q tips and kitchen paper towels with the relevant solve...

Re: Tamiya MP4/4
Nice build, and nice high-gloss paint job. And a Newey-designed car that everyone likes - looks like it's going fast even when it's standing still. Interesting work on the sanded tyres, steering wheel grip, seat belts and carbon fibre decals. Thanks for sharing! Nothing to do with Newey.... Gordon ...

Re: Tamiya Sprays Are Back!!!

With limited access due to shipping restrictions on rattle cans from o/s and all the hassles, generally I settle on AB + bottled stuff .... surely no better than Alclad II, Zero etc ...., more control e...
