I haven't seen that pattern in a decal myself. But here's a thought. The attempts at shooting color through a piece of screen usually isn't as convincing as a decal but in this case it might be just the thing. It may be worth some experimentation.

I struggle to understand why there is such a high part count for this kit. Pocher classics like the Rolls Maharajia and Mercedes 500K could claim about 1000 parts apiece but 480 of them were spokes and nipple tensioners for six wheels.
