Re: New Plastic Indycar kit in 1/20 scale coming soon!!!!
Well down here in New Zealand, I’m going to have to get a McLaughlin version, but will want a Dixon car as well. Surely that will be forthcoming? As for price, our NZ dollar is even more of a South Pacific Peso than the Aussie one, so it won’t be pretty…but it will still be cheaper than even a 1/43 ...

Re: Model shops in Tokyo?
Hi guys. Just reading through the forums, checking to see if Chris (Eagle50) is still around. I’m planning a whistle stop trip to Tokyo for the Yokohama Hobby Forum Show first week in December and wondered if anyone else was planning on being there. I haven’t been back to Japan since Covid, so a bit...

Re: Model shops in Tokyo?
One other place worth a look is the Shosen Book Tower in Akiharbara. I think it’s the 5th floor that has all the transport and military books/magazines. Most will be in Japanese, but they are worth it for the photos alone. I for a lot of my F1Modeling magazines and MFH Joe Honda books from there. Yo...

Re: Model shops in Tokyo?
I’ve got another shop for you…Automodeli GT by Finishers. It is near Ueno, so not far from Akiharbara. Closest metro station is Inaricho, and it’s about 3.5 blocks down Kiyosubashi-dori Ave (turn left from station exit) The owner is the producer of Finishers paints, and is a motor racing and sci-fi ...

Re: Next Tamiya F1...???
It would be great to know the production and sales figures for Tamiya’s F1 kits over the years. We are obviously a pretty biased sample of consumers, but comparisons with their other kits and products would be fascinating.

I have been watching the build of this on the “Ant Anstead, Master Mechanic” tv show. His is built with an Alfa motor and mechanicals. It looks pretty cool. The series is down to the last couple of episodes, so I’m looking forward to seeing the final result.

How To Build A Car by Adrian Newey
Hi all, I just read this book recently and highly recommend it. Despite the title, it is actually a (ghost written) autobiography telling of Newey’s life and career. It is an interesting read, both for some background on what happened behind the scenes In many of F1s controversies, as well as the te...

Re: Ferrari 156 Sharknose in plastic Y/N?
Maybe because there are no “real ones” left? I know there are replicas, like the one made by by Chris Rea for La Passione, but all the originals were (I believe) destroyed.
Not sure how model companies go about producing a model, but I’m sure having access to the subject would make it a lot easier?

Re: What is your latest model purchase
I spent a couple of hours browsing the shelves at Hobbyeasy in Hong Kong last Friday. It is a bit of a modellers paradise with a lot of interesting kits to look at. I came away with an eclectic mix of tools, cars, aircraft and egg-style "cartoon" planes. Because of the relative scarcity of...
