Re: calling forum member Smirkoff RE: Shapeways parts

Thanks guys!
It does seem that some parts were undercured / underprocessed (?) as some of them turned milky white with a fine dust on top as I washed them in isopropanol. I then washed them in soapy water which removed the dust somewhat, and I am getting rid of the rest using a soft toothbrush.

Re: McLaren MCL35M 2021

This is a really interesting project to follow!
3D modeling is not just a matter of pressing "print" and getting a ready made car in the other end. There are many adjustments, changes and thinking to be done along the way, I can see.

Keep up the good work, it is most interesting! :)

Re: Who will win the 2021 Italian Grand Prix?

...and then reality sets in and you crash. Heavily. All I can say is, the Halo is an excellent invention. I no longer car about how silly it looks, how questionable its debris protection is, today it saved a life. As for the manoeuvre itself, it was something I have not seen before. There was no way...

Re: calling forum member Smirkoff RE: Shapeways parts

I have bought the full set of the SF71H conversion, and while I have only dry-fitted a few parts, they seem to fit the Tamiya kit most excellently. And are pretty accurate too! The parts are printed in SLS and so have no supports, and very fine lines. The only thing I would add is, they have to be w...

Re: What is your latest model purchase

Here is my latest haul: TWO (!) SF70H kits, one F60 and an RB6. Along with the paints that fit. https://i.ibb.co/phYpZ4f/IMG-5144.jpg All were bought from hobby stores, and not from eBay. And at normal prices. These kits are still available, it seems. You just have to be really good at Googling and ...

Re: PLASTIC Upcoming F1 Releases 2021

Mercedes in England and Mercedes in Germany are different companies and will have different licensing deals as well, its not a blanket deal to make any Mercedes car. Prior to losing the Ferrari licensing deal, the SF70H was a rather inexpensive kit for example, and other modern F1 kits like the F60...

Just the Fujimi FW14B and Tamia FW11B straight out of the box..
Nothing as advanced as your amazing project!

Re: Williams FW15, 1992 (Unraced).

That looks very nice! A silly question, but how did you align the masking to the decals? Is there a trick to it, or did you go by eye and then aligned the decals to the painted borders? Hi, and definitely! Not a silly question at all, I'm more than happy to answer. Time, patience & unhealthy ob...

Re: PLASTIC Upcoming F1 Releases 2021

Last I heard Ducati was not competing in F1.
Nor do I think that car would pass the scrutiny.
