Re: 1/20 Fujimi's F187/88 Italian Gp winner

Nicely done. It's a goofy kit, ain't it? I built 2 of them, the first one bit me with that seam with the 2 pieces for the headrest area and BOTH times, the black piece inside the sidepod that is supposed to be red. I had to go back and spray paint some white decal sheet red and apply it over that. W...

Re: Scanning white decals to cut with Silhouette

On a normal scanner, you could backlight the decals, that makes the white decals show up somewhat better. Rob That's actually a good idea. My scanner doesn't have a back light, but if I put my little light up pad for tracing things behind the decal.....in theory.....should do the same. I actually n...

Re: Scanning white decals to cut with Silhouette

I had a similar problem, when I wanted to make masking templates for the Revell Williams FW19: White decals on white carrier. I solved the problem by cutting out the white decals along the edge of the decals and placing them on an orange piece of paper for the scan. 20240408_142950.jpg Surely not t...

Scanning white decals to cut with Silhouette

A number of years ago I bought a Silhouette cutter to scan area decals and cut masks in their place. However, I can't get this hack to work with white markings. I have tried to figure out how to invert the colors so white turns black, but even that I haven't figured out. Anyone have a good trick for...

Re: Panel line clean up

I take a Q tip, dip it in 92% alcohol , squeeze off excess alcohol with my fingers then wipe across panel line. If you go with the line, you'll take out everything. Probably best to wipe across once. It is possible to smear black off and create a bigger mess.

Re: Moto GP season opener

Picked up right where it left off last season: the one guy ( no spoilers, thank you ) dominating the Sprint and the other guy taking the GP proper. See how long it takes Acosta to figure out how to manage the rubber. I saw the race listed on Trutv in the States as TNT was showing 3 hour ads with hoc...
